Allison G. Cummings, MD
Bio
I am a family physician with a deep passion for patient care and improving health systems.
Everyone deserves a doctor who will listen, answer questions, and translate medical jargon into understandable language.
As a fierce patient advocate, I aspire to make our health care system easier to navigate, more accessible, and more equitable.
I am comfortable taking care of patients across all ages and in a variety of settings, with special clinical interests in mental health care, family planning and medical complexity.

QI Experience
Continuous systems improvement is foundational to my clinical practice. I am comfortable with the logistics of basic QI work, including building and running reports within Epic, performing PDSA cycles, and creating process maps and run charts.
My goal moving forward is to perform QI work at a larger scale, through stakeholder identification and engagement, and empowering all members of the healthcare team to see QI work as accessible, interesting, and rewarding.

Supported senior resident QI project through data collection using UW HBI dashboard tool, creation of run charts, and facilitation of PDSA cycles

Collaborative Palliative Care Model
Supported efforts to conceptualize and implement collaborative model between palliative care, oncology and primary care providers for patients with advanced cancer; performed numerous chart reviews to better quantify and qualitatively characterize nature of goals-of-care documentation in medical record
Hotspotting Pilot Program
Worked with interdisciplinary group of students (undergraduate, social work, medicine, pharmacy, nursing) to partner volunteers with patients identified to be high-utilizers of health care resources, often with complex social needs
